About Us

Our Australian dual grand master is Master Sung Soo Lee. Chrys and Duane Tait were both trained firstly by Damien O’Flaherty (who now has established schools in Brisbane).

Master Brad Hope in Cairns was their mentor for many years. Chrys Tait is a 6th Dan in Taekwondo and a 3rd Dan in Hapkido as well as a 1st Dan in Amis de Mano. Chrys also has a 2nd Dan Kukkiwon certification. Duane Tait is a 4th Dan Taekwondo, 2nd Dan Hapkido and a 2nd Dan in Arnis de Mano. Duane also has a 1st Dan Kukkiwon certificate.

They have been State Referees and have competed in State and National Tournaments. Duane is a silver medalist for tile breaking at the age of 16 competing against the adults as well as a bronze medalist in sparring. Both Duane and Chrys have travelled to South Korea in 1996, 1998,  2006 and 2016 attending the Young-In University and the Kangwon University for Martial Arts training and have also visited Kukkiwon each time.( World Headquarters for Taekwondo)

Recently in 2016 they both attended a new facility built in 2014 called Taekwondowon. Here they both competed in the 2016 International Open Taekwondo Festival and both won Gold medals in their divisions.

Chrys Tait (12.06.54) is married with three sons Duane, Ashley and Haydn all of whom are Black Belts as well. Chrys has a Licentiate Diploma in Music and has been teaching music since 1970. She was first employed as a music teacher at Mourilyan State School from 1988 to 1991. Since the end of 1991 till today, she has been a teacher aide assisting the Music Teachers as well as normal duties at lnnisfail East State School. Along with managing stages and bands at youth events such as Mudfest, Feedback, Rockwall etc… Chrys teaches music privately at her own home. For 4 years Chrys was a committee member of the Sports and Recreation Committee to the Cassowary Coast Council.

Duane Tait (7.09.79), apart from teaching Taekwondo, has also been a drumming teacher, played in bands, completed an Interpretive and Heritage Tourism course at the TAFE. At this moment Duane is the only 2nd Dan Arnis de Mano in Queensland.
